The 2023-2024 season saw the resurgence of two of the most prominent college football programs in the nation: the Texas Longhorns and the Florida State Seminoles. The Seminoles had a season for the ages until the loss of starting quarterback Jordan Travis, but they still held firm. 100% the main reason why the Seminoles still finished the season undefeated was because of the play of their stellar defense. Of course, everyone has heard the names Braden Fiske, Jared Verse, etc. Still, their lockdown corner Renardo Green was particular.

Green was a three-star recruit out of Apopka, Florida, and committed to the Seminoles. Mike Norvell has made a career out of turning small recruits into NFL draft prospects and did it again with Green. Green was an instant contributor as he appeared in all 13 games as a true freshman. He would continue to do so until his junior season in 2022 when he became the full-time starting corner. He was awarded All Acc honorable mention. In 2023, Green would continue his stellar play. He was tenth in the nation with 13 pass breakups and was awarded second team all ACC. Green’s Strengths

• Shut down Malik Nabers.
• Green is an excellent athletic ability player with solid makeup, speed, and a change of direction. This allows him to do what he does best, which is press man coverage. He had a good scheme at Florida State that highlighted his strengths. 
• He’s one of the best press corners in the entire draft. He can stay in phase with the wideout and telegraph routes well. 
• Florida State put a lot of pressure to tackle and bring defenders down. Green is a good tackler who isn’t to be physical with good tackling technique. 
• Due to the lack of elite speed, questions about whether he can be an outside corner might be asked. However, he has the positional versatility to play instantly as a slot corner in the NFL. Has a very good change of direction.
• He showed scheme versatility at Florida State, playing well in zone and man defenses. 
• When he finds the ball, he’s good at knocking the ball away and racking up deflections and pass breakups.

Green’s Weakness

• Around average size for a cornerback, frame, and play strength must be improved to help play style. 
• The Biggest flaw to project to the NFL level is Green has moments of being overly physical.
• There are even times he is physical beyond the five of your contact? He will be flagged at the NFL level and could risk getting penalties. 
• He needs improvement in tracking the ball down the field. He can get hands and panic, which causes him to not get his head around missing potential football plays.
• Is he an outside corner? He lacks elite long speed, and his footwork and balance could be better on the outside. 
• He needs the elite burst to close onto the football quickly enough on short throws, curls, and comebacks.
