New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was arrested on Monday night. Footage of the arrest shows he tried to play the athlete card.
Olave was apprehended by authorities in Kenner, Louisiana for suspicion of reckless operation of a motor vehicle after he was caught traveling double the speed limit. The 23-year-old’s Dodge Charger was said to be “recklessly maneuvering between lanes” while traveling at a high rate of speed.
Footage of the arrest acquired by TMZ Sports showed Olave’s interaction with the police officer.
Olave appeared to be cooperative and explained that he was just trying to get home. But he also slipped in that he played for the Saints. It’s safe to say that the flex did not impress the arresting officer.
“My bad, dog. I play for the Saints, man,” Olave told the officer.
“And?” the officer responded.
